Frequently Asked Questions
A few tips for your above ground pool.
Purchase shut off valves to install on your connections at the pool. This helps stop you from loosing water if you suddenly find you have a bad gasket, of a cracked hose.
Replace your hoses every few years to keep them fresh. Nothing worse than coming out and seeing that your pump has burnt up because a hose sprung a leak and your water level is now below the skimmer.
The difference between a sand filter, and a cartridge filter, is you will use a lot of water to backwash your filter on a sand filter.
If you have a cartridge filter , buy a second filter. This gives you time to really clean your other filter . Also always have a spare rubber gasket for your pump cap and your filter housing. buy the lubricant they have at the pool store for them, everything goes back together much easier.
Q: Why can't I just use my hose to fill my pool?
A: Many people do use their hose. But, if you are on well water, your water has not been treated. You will have to buy chemicals and run your well for sometimes up to three days to fill your pool. Most garden hoses only discharge six gallons/minute. That's only 360 gallons an hour. That's a lot of stress on your well pump. After you add the water treatment chemicals, you will have to run the pool filter for a few days straight, to get the water ready to swim in. To recap, if you use well water, it may take approx. three days to fill your pool, and another 2-3 days to treat the water before swimming in it. Having it trucked in, you are ready to swim the same day your water is delivered. (To determine how many gallons your pool holds, please click here.)
Q: Where do you get your water?
A: We purchase our water from local municipalities that have a proven record for water quality, and clarity.
Q: Is your water treated?
A: Our water is treated by the city or municipality we purchase it from. The water meets all state standards for drinking water.
Q: Why do some other companies make claims that all the water they deliver is Lake Michigan water and other companies don't get their water from there?
A: Most all the Chicago suburbs have Lake Michigan water to supply the residents of their community. But I don't care what company it is. We all get our water from the same places most of the time and they all are not on Lake Michigan Water. Other towns provide the same Quality water . The ones that don't have good water, we don't buy from them. While some companies might have questionable water sources outside of the Chicagoland area, we rely on your satisfaction to spread the word about our business. 23 years of reputation, and the top choice for many of the pool builders in Chicagoland, both in-ground and aboveground.
Q: How much water does your truck hold?
A: Our trucks hold approx 6000 gallons.
Q: How do I know your trucks are full, and you are not charging me for less than full loads in order to haul more loads?
A: When a company is dishonest, they have to remember their lies. When you are honest you have to remember nothing!! You are always welcome to climb up and check our tanks at the beginning, and end, to see for yourself!! We have built our 23 year reputation on being HONEST!!
Q: Why can't you guarantee a delivery time?
A: The only time we guarantee is 7 am. Our day changes so much. A customer might order 1 load, then decide he wants a 2nd load. We also run into other people who are filling up with water at the same places, we can sit in line for an hour sometimes. Traffic, construction, rush hour, and pool companies not ready due to problems they run into. Anyone who says they are on time, all the time is, let's just say it is better to honest upfront . We know it sucks to wait around, but remember you don't have to be there when we fill your pool.
Q: Other websites make claims of companies hauling fuel or fertilizer before they deliver the water. is that really true?
A: Not that I have ever seen during the pool season. Though Ironically the company that makes these claims used to haul fertilizer during the fall, so maybe they did what they claim others do! Our tanks strictly haul only potable water
Q: How much does it cost to have my pool filled?
A: The cost of filling your pool depends on how much water you need, where you live, and the time of year you are looking to have your pool filled. Give us a call and we can let you know!

Q: Do I have to be home? We work during the day.
A: We fill many pools while our customers are at work, happens almost every day. No need to take a day off work, to sit around waiting for your water delivery. Although, it may be a good reason to take the day!
Q: Will the water pressure damage my pool?
A: No. We let the pumps only idle during the first six inches, then we gradually increase the rate of water flow. This process prevents the pool from filling too quickly. It also allows us time to smooth out wrinkles on the vinyl pool liner before the water gets too deep.

Q: Do I need to pay the day of delivery, or can you leave me a bill?
A: We require payment upon completion of the last load.
Q: Do your service pools and equipment?
A: Sorry we don't. But you can find a company on our list of recommended Pool Service Professionals who stand behind their work.
Q: Can we swim right after you fill our pool?
A: Yes. Many times children like to play in the pool as it is being filled. That is a great part of our job...seeing the kids with huge smiles on their faces!
Q: My water just won't clear up. Why?
A: The water in your pool over time builds up with the chemicals you use to keep it clear. When you find that you're using more chemicals than usual, you should consider changing out your water!
Q: When should I call you to schedule water delivery?
A: It is best to plan ahead. In the spring, calling a few weeks in advance is great. But generally 1 week is good. IMPORTANT TIP: If you have a vinyl liner pool, never empty it without having a truck scheduled for the same day. Your vinyl liner will shrink if pool is left empty and it will stretch back only half the way. Once you have it clean, put at least four inches of water back in so the water weight is pushing the liner tight to the wall, preventing shrinkage.
Q: How many pumps are on your tanker?
A: Each of our tankers is equipped with 2 pumps. This backup feature helps minimize the chance of a service failure at your site. Not all bulk water haulers can offer you this assurance.
Q: Is there a difference in companies that deliver water like you do
A: In some cases, YES ! Some companies will cancel, or not show up at all. Mostly because they got another job that was closer than your pool. Or their water quality might not be as good . Not all companies get water from the same places. Not all companies are bad, just a few! In 23 years we have only cancelled on 2 people, and that was when we had a truck go down for 2 days, and the ones we asked to cancel on were on city municipal water, We tried to service those that were on well water first in our attempt to catch up.
